After lots of intense research, Puro Sound Labs has developed several sets of headphones, specifically designed for children that are volume-limiting, this includes a suggested safe zone of 85 decibels. The owner of Puro Sound Labs has noise-induced hearing loss, caused by listening to headphones and music that was at too high of a volume at a young age. She set out on a quest to make headphone use safer for the next generation of users – who use them more frequently than we did.
There are eight headphone options in the Pure Sound Labs lineup, including three sets that are also perfect for adults. We opted to try the BT2200-PLUS model, because they were most similar to the other over-the-ear headphones that we’ve tried. These are nice and sturdy and extremely durable. My daughter is really enjoying the comfort-cushion headband – something that I have struggled with on some of my headphones after several hours of wear. The comfortable ear cushions are also made of vegan leather – bonus! Your purchase includes two ear cover options for over-the-ear or on-the-ear comfort. She played around quite a bit with the size of the headband until it was comfortable. She was so surprised and excited that this set had an adjustable headset. She is eight-and-a-half years old and they fit her perfectly. I love that these will also grow with her.
I was personally impressed by the sound quality. Even though she doesn’t notice too much of a difference in sound quality from set to set, she was enjoying listening to her tunes while relaxing, watching videos, playing games and going on dog walks. We both checked them out and I agree that the quality is pretty great. They claim to be studio quality – and I agree. They sound much better than the pairs that we have purchased for her at discount department stores. I can also tell that they are MUCH more durable than anything else we have purchased.
The headphones we tried are 82% noise-isolation, are made of tough aluminum bodies and are wireless and Bluetooth enabled.
Battery life suggests an amazing 200 hours of standby and 20 hours of playback. Several cable adapters and charging options are included with your purchase.
