Are you frustrated with your athletic shoes coming untied mid run or workout? Sometimes it doesn't matter how many times you double-knot your favorite pair of running shoes. I have found that the laces on some of my favorite running shoes keep getting shorter and shorter with each purchase. I swear that they are putting shorter laces is them now. I find that I often don't even have room to double-knot my shoes on recent pairs.

Every time I purchase a new pair of running shoes, I take the entire shoe lace out, re-lace them and adjust um-teen-million times until I find my desired support at each part of my foot and appropriately cinche at my ankle. My feet and toes still tend to go numb. With my plantar fasciitis pain for the past year, the LAST thing that I want is more foot pain.

I was recently introduced to Caterpy No Tie Shoelaces. It may seem daunting at first to take those shoe laces out and try something else. Who has time for that? Running shoes and inserts are already quite costly, so who wants to pay an additional couple bucks towards them? But I promise you that this will be a small financial investment (under $14) and the benefits that you will experience will be well worth it. And just think of all of that time that you will be saving from retying your laces before and during your runs.

I wear a size 10 womens running shoe and was sent the 75 cm/30 in set to try. Just as the charts suggest, they fit my shoes perfectly. With a little initial snugging, pulling and tugging I found the perfect fit -- within moments. Seriously, moments From my first step, my heel didn't lift or leave my shoe. And I didn't have any tightness in my every-widening feet at the toe box. It was actually pretty amazing. Becuase, I had doubts. There are a lot of guides on the Caterpy website that will help you find the right lace size for you and your shoes.

I chose to tuck the ends of my laces into my shoe and they weren't uncomfortable. You can also keep them out if they are short enough.

As noted, I do believe that the circulation in my feet improved with these walks and runs. Some of my foot pain may not have even been chronic foot pain during this past year. I often complained about my feet going numb and was explaining this to my confused, physical therapist. But he insisted that I was in the right shoe and size. Maybe it was just my laces and how they were supporting me?!

And, did I mention all of the colors and styles? There are definitelty a lot of options if you want to be seen - or even match your favorite pair of shoes. But there are plenty of neutral colors, too.

I was sent a pink reflective pair and some more neutral colors. I decided to try out the reflective pair first and they really do make you more visible during your early morning and late evening runs. I was really amazed by how much more visible they made my feet while they moved underneath me in the dark. Just think of how helpful that will be this season while you're running in place at cross walks or running against traffic.

No more velcro! These would also be a great option for your kiddos (like mine!) who struggle with tying their shoe laces. Or the teenagers who refuse to unlace and tie their more expensive athletic shoes - with the possibility of ruining the heel of their pricey shoe over and over again. Let them pick out their favorite color and make heading out the door a little less stressful - for everyone.

I was also sent a set of No-Crease Hairties. I wear a ponytail every single day. I have used a variety of elastic bands that break or stretch out or crease or damage my hair. These from Caterpy are awfully nice. For less than $8 you will receive a pack of three and like the laces, there are a variety of color options. They also sell bulk purchasing options - if you REALLY like them like I do! They also work great as bracelets, if you are like me and prefer to wear an extra one on your wrist - just in case. The bump structure helped my high ponytail stay in place quite nicely. I love to adjust my ponytail frequently throughout the day - but no adjustment is really needed with these. They feature no metal hardware or adhesives. So no extra pulling and ripping out unnecessary hair. Something that I typically find all over in my hairties when I take them out.

And, you might as well try both. With any purchase over $30, you'll automatically receive $30 shipping. Let me know if you give them a try on your next workout. I'd love to hear what you think.
